I thought I’d begin by reading a poem by Shakespeare, but then I thought, why should I? He never reads any of mine. (Spike Milligan)

A Silly Poem – by Spike Milligan
Said Hamlet to Ophelia,
I’ll draw a sketch of thee,
What kind of pencil shall I use?
2B or not 2B?
One of the best books given to me as a child was ‘Unspun Socks From A Chicken’s Laundry’ by Spike Milligan. I still have it. It remains a firm favourite and always makes me smile. If you get the chance, pick up a copy. You won’t regret it. Promise.
(Back from sunny Queensland tomorrow when TSL shall resume normal broadcasting!)
Thanks for reminding me of one of the zaniest comics ever to have existed. Spike Milligan is a legend. “I’m a hero with coward’s legs.” was another of his quotes. Hehe Funny man. 🙂
I never heard of him. But, now I definitely need to check him out!
WIM2S – you must get the book ‘Badjelly the Witch’ by Spike for Simples. Failing that, get the DVD. It’s brilliant. He had the most amazing imagination.
