If you haven’t already discovered Ari Seth Cohen’s blog Advanced Style, it is well worth a gander. In his blog, Cohen photographs fashionable women on the streets of New York, but only if they’re over 60. What a great concept! All these wonderfully flamboyant women in all their fashion-centric glory. It’s a fabulous celebration of life, and being true to yourself, not to mention a high level of feel-good-factor.
When interviewed by the New York Times, he explained that he started the blog in August 2008, with a cheap, borrowed camera and no photographic background, three months after moving to New York. It sounds as though his grandmothers were his inspiration.
Now he has a book AND a movie coming out in 2012. How cool is that?
You can see the movie preview here:

And his book can be pre-ordered here at Amazon.

Don’t you think this would be a great gift for a woman who inspires you?
Very uplifting!
Thanks Ashleigh. I thought so, too! (Loved your Ab Fab’ pic!)
