Just a wee note to let you know I have returned home from New Zealand with ‘Kiwi Flu’ – a rare strain of bird flu that, while not fatal, is a bit unpleasant. Don’t you hate that?

LM is keeping me well dosed with ginger lemon and honey tea.

Normal TSL transmissions shall resume shortly…

Sorry to hear about the kiwi flu, but the cure seems rather pleasant.

Hey Jan – while LM was busy making his ginger lemon honey elixir, Bella was keeping me company. Nothing beats the love of a poodle!

Get better soon- that kiwi Manuka honey works wonders! πŸ™‚

…and tastes good, too, BCD.

42 Below works a treat as well and I believe that it comes in Manuka Honey flavour – best of both worlds πŸ˜‰

Oh no! I still have a little bit of mine, which started in March. Hopefully back in the arms of Sydney yours will dissipate faster than mine. I hope you still made time for ice cream while you were away.

You know, PK – I didn’t have ice cream. Sacrilege, I know. I did consume an enormous bag of feijoas that I picked up at the Matakana markets for $3. They are not so easy to find here, and usually cost about $3 each!!!

Hmmmm, I’m a Kiwi and I’ve never heard of this one!

I may have been embellishing a touch…

Keep sipping the tea! Sending positive healing vibes your way!! T.

Lovely T! The tea was lovely (!) and I’m sure your vibes helped, too πŸ™‚

I always get Kiwi the bird and Kiwi the fruit mixed up. I’m glad you don’t have some kind of fruit flu. Or maybe that would be better…

SSFAM! In NZ we say ‘kiwi’ for the bird and for the people (we are ‘Kiwis’); but the fruit is always ‘kiwifruit’ to us.

Well, that’s good to know! Are you feeling any better?

Oh no! Hope you’re starting to feel better now. You could also try a wee Scottish cure – a hot toddy – hot water, whisky, lemon juice and honey! Always works for me! πŸ™‚

I reckon I could just add whisky to LM’s tea. YUM!

Oh yes, good plan! πŸ˜‰ How did that work out for you?! Hope you’re fully recovered now!
