The MOST AWESOME Aussie and Kiwi Collagen Veggie Blend Giveaway!

Vital Proteins Collagen Giveaway

Vital Proteins Collagen Giveaway

“There are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents, and only one for birthday presents, you know.” – Lewis Carroll

It’s my birthday, so I’ve decided to hand out some presents!

*I know I look slightly manic in these pics. Balancing 6 tubs of heavier-than-they-look Collagen Veggie Blend while having your pic’ taken is not quite as easy as it sounds!

You probably already know that Dr. Sarah Ballantyne, aka The Paleo Mom, teamed up with the good peeps at Vital Proteins to create an AIP-friendly, gut-healing, collagen blend that includes 20 grams of protein from grass-fed collagen peptides per serve, along with 3 serves of organic veggies and 1 serve of organic high-antioxidant fruit.

It’s a GREAT way to get more nutrient density into your diet (or the diets of family members who are not so great with veggies, perhaps…?)

And if you didn’t know about it, you do now!

But, did you know that my little recipe for ‘Veggie Blend’ Matcha Caramel Slice made me one of four winners to receive six tubs of Collagen Veggie Blend AND have the recipe included in a special printed booklet that Vital Proteins will be delivering along with every tub of Collagen Veggie Blend?

Not too shabby, I reckon!

I have another recipe for a POWER Green Smoothie with pear, lemon and spinach, too…

Veggie Blend mania

Here’s the thing, though; 630g (22 oz) of Collagen Veggie Blend retails for US$79.00. When you convert that to down-under dollars we’re talking about AU$101.00 or NZ$111.00! That’s getting a little pricey for most of us… Especially when you add postage and packaging on top.

So, today I’m sharing the love!

Yep. Since it’s my birthday, I’ve decided to give away my 6 tubs of these lovely tubs of green goodness to my Australian and New Zealand subscribers. I’m heading to Auckland on Thursday, so I’ll pop a tub (or two or three) into my luggage for the Kiwi contingent!

Collagen Veggie Blend Giveaway

If you’d like a little inspiration for just what to do with your Collagen Veggie Blend, check out these recipes from all the winners at The Paleo Mom.

TO WIN A TUB OF DR.SARAH BALLANTYNE’S COLLAGEN VEGGIE BLEND

There are 2 easy steps to enter the giveaway –

1. Subscribe to my newsletter. Either signup HERE or click the link at the top right corner of this page. If you already receive my newsletter, you’re good to go! No need to sign up again.
2. Leave a comment on this post telling me just what you’re looking forward to whipping up with your winning tub of Veggie blend (and whether you’re in Australia or NZ, too).

A Couple of Things to Note:

This giveaway is open to Australian and New Zealand residents only. I know that’s frustrating if you’re further north! So often down here, giveaways are limited to US residents – so, I’m giving the Aussies and Kiwis a turn

Feel free to forward this to any friends or family who may be interested – especially those with family members who are not so great with eating their veggies!

The winners will be chosen at random on Tuesday 31st October at midday Australian Eastern Time.

The giveaway has now ended – Congratulations to Robyn, Sally, Lisa, Mechelle, Lorraine and Sharon

Oh happy birthday wonderful Joanna! And what a gorgeous human being you are to giveaway the giveaway you won! I am currently working on a paleo vege pie and would LOVE to add this godsend of a produc to it – to give it the gut healing boost it needs! Happy happy day to you x

Ooooh – Paleo veg’ pie sound yummy! I look forward to seeing that…

Good luck, lovely Anna!

Oh gosh that sounds delightful. If you have success can you send the recipe!

I’m trying to find a good egg free paleo zucchini fritter recipe. No success with what I’ve cooked up so far.

I think I would like to try and add it to a cauliflower and carrot “cheese” I make but that depends on the flavour! But I know it would definitely work in my green smoothie of avo, parsley, spinach, kiwifruit and water!

I’d like to try your cauli’ ‘n carrot ‘cheese! Colour me intrigued!

Good luck, Miss Felicity!

Oh yes please Jo! I’ve just started up my vege garden over here and will be putting the zuchinnis in soon so I’d be living this collagen blend to make some zuchinni cheese but also Mango season has started so your gorgeous mango moose thingy is going to be getting a good run for all it’s worth if I can get a tub of that blend!!!!
Please please (the very isolated Westie!)
Naomi warth

Hey lovely Naomi! Love that you’ve got your veg’ garden underway. Go you!

Best of luck!

I have never used collagen in recipes before and have stuck to the standard smoothie/hot drink. Definitely need to expand and have a go at the AIP friendly matcha caramel slice – have the tiger nuts ready just need the collagen.

You’re half way there, Kay! Best of luck.

PS – are you in AU or NZ?

Thank you for this opportunity! It is often hard to get great gut healing supps here in Oz. I currently use Great Lakes would like to this try this in my smoothies, baked goods and in my daily cup of tea – depending what it tastes like – as it would really help increase my vegie intake and My Miss 16 too.

Hey Danielle – there is a definite ‘green’ taste to the Veggie Blend. I love it in smoothies and baking, but perhaps a slightly less ‘grassy’ flavour in my tea…

Good luck!

Happy Birthday Joanna! I’ve been itching to make your matcha caramel slice, but as you’ve mentioned getting the Veggie Blend is a little out of my budget right now. Plus there have been so many recipes in the last few months that all the bloggers have been making – so many choices!! It would also be exciting to create some recipes of my own.

Hi Robyn! – perhaps you will get the opportunity?

Best of luck

PS – are you in NZ or AU?

I want to make compliant marshmallows! Yummy, sticky vanilla marshmallows for when i want a treat!

Ha! I love your adventurous spirit – the collagen would make for a very green marshmallow (and don’t forget, this is collagen, not the gelatin that sets)

Good luck, Mon!

Happy Birthday Joanna! I love the look of your matcha caramel slice but unfortunately I find sugar in all forms so addictive for me. I will enjoy with my eyes only. 😉 Therefore I am going to try making crackers and adding it to some meals to get my younger children eating more veges, I already hide much more than they know they are eating! I am in Australia 🙂

Hey Lisa – I think this would be a great addition to plantain crackers! Great idea!

Best of luck.

Ashleigh Croucher

Oh happiest of birthdays to you!! I absolutely love this brand but often can’t afford it as I’m not able to work due to my autoimmune issues flaring up really badly for the last year or so. I love putting these in my smoothies – I have to take a lot of gross powdered supplements so I find it’s easiest to hide them in a smoothie! But I like to make them as nutrient dense as possible. I also add collagen to a lot of our food in summer when it’s too hot to eat bone broth based foods (we live in Brisbane, Australia – it gets hot!!). Thanks so much for this opportunity and happy birthday again xxx

Thanks Ashleigh!

The Collagen Veggie Blend is the PERFECT addition to smoothies!

Best of luck!

I’ve been experimenting with making protein bars and so far my best, most flavoursome, most un-fall-apart-keep in the handbag, doesn’t include coconut bar is based on tigernuts (which I bought back from Australia, much cheaper). This veggie fruity collagen mix would be a great addition taste-wise as my bars always include some pumpkin, cinnamon, and/or apple. And collagen is soooo expensive so thank you for your generosity and the chance to win a tub and congratulations on your win? I live in NZ

Oooh – that sounds fantastic, Kay!

Good luck!

I’m boring, I just make gummies and drink I spoonful in water every morning. Just gets me sorted for the day lining my gut. I have this with the bioceuticals IM Repair. Game changer for anyone who has percictant gut pain.

Gummies are not boring!!!

Best of luck, Regan 🙂

Happy birthday Jo! Hope you’re well! Thank you for this generous give away!
My 3 year old son and I make a smoothie together every morning and he gets the special job of putting in this ‘magic fairy dust’ as he calls it. He normally wants to put in way too much so I need to control his scoop size! But as you pointed out it’s very expensive to order so this would be a great help!

I think ‘magic fairy dust’ is an even better name for it!

Good luck, Nicole!

Happy birthday Joanna. Thank you for being so generous!
I have to try winning another giveaway! I’ve never tried using anything like a collagen veggie blend but I’ve always wanted to try making zucchini cheese… I’m in NZ 🙂

Hi Gwenda! – I hope you are enjoying your cookbook!

Zucchini (ciurgette?!?!) cheese ROCKS!

Good luck.

It’s the kind of thing I’d add to EVERYTHING to get some extra goodness into my toddlers!

It’s a great sneaky ingredient to get wee ones eating more greens, Kate!

Good luck!

PS -a re you in AU or NZ?

This looks fantastic! My husband has finally agreed that he needs to start eating healthy after 11 years and I would love something like this to put in a breakfast smoothie for an easy and yummy breakfast option. ?

Excellent!

Best of luck, Ruth.

(I’m in Australia)

Oh you sweet person for sharing the gut-love! I’m in NZ. Cooking and me share a tense and relatively unhappy relationship. (Spot the Don’t-care-well-for-myself personality type which created my health issues in the first place!). Some would say I should have learned my lesson and that I should have energy for eating more nutritiously. I agree! However! Leopards and spots, I also say. So! Having magic everything in a tub is my dream-come-true! I would consume it as unceremoniously as possible, as often as possible!

Hello lovely Lorraine!

Change is hard, isn’t it?

Best of luck!

I’m in AU and I would love to have this to add to my kid’s smoothies. They’re good kids who choose to just look away while I’m filling the blender. They don’t want to know what kinds of weird (AKA nutritious) things I’m putting in, just so long as it tastes good!

Greens by stealth, Dacey. I like it!

Best of luck.

Thank you Joanna for sharing your winnings!
Finally an AIP giveaway I can enter ?
The first thing I will be making with my winning Tun of Veggie Blend is your winning recipe “Veggie Blend Matcha Caramel Slice”

Hello Margarita!

Yes! – we often miss out down here, don’t we?

Good luck!

Thank you for the great opportunity, I’m looking forward to blending up some great AIP smoothies with the veggie blend, acerola cherry powder, berries and coconut milk. Yum!

Hi Elinor – your smoothie combo sounds delish!

Good luck!

PS – are you in AU or NZ?

I haven’t been able to use protein powder for so long. I do not have an AIP one and I haven’t found one in NZ at all! I would start off with some morning smoothies and hopefully move on to some baking for special treats 🙂

Rachelle – this baby is perfect for smoothies.

Best of luck.

Happy birthday! I’ve been wanting to try this for ages! I would totally make the Salted Caramel Pumpkin Spice Collagen Balls from http://lichenpaleolovingaip.com/salted-caramel-pumpkin-spice-collagen-balls-aippaleo/. I’ve been wanting to make these since I saw them!

I’m NZ based and would love to win 🙂

Oh Tali – great idea! I saw that recipe and had the same thought.

Good luck!

Hi Joanna, I’d love to win some of this to try in a smoothie. I have Sjogren’s Syndrome and am easing myself into AIP gently. I’m in New Zealand.

Hello Kiwi Kat,

Best of luck on your AIP experience and in the giveaway!

Happy Birthday Jo. I will probably add the collagen veggie blend to my favourite afternoon drink of iced matcha tea made with sparkling mineral water and coconut milk

Oooh – that sounds interesting!

Best of luck, Lena.

Happy Birthday. I’m in Australia. I’m hoping it will help with some more portable food recipes for those times you’re going out and haven’t much time to cook

Hey Janiece

This is a great nutrient dense option (ergo, the birth of my Matcha Caremel Slice!)

Best of luck!

Hi Jo, Wow your so generous!
HAPPY birthday?
I would make your Matcha Caramel Slice if I won! It sounds delicious. My fingers & toes are crossed.

I’m sure with your creative talent, you’ll be whipping ups nutrient dense goodies in no time!

(Don’t get cramp!)

Hello from New Zealand Joanne and thanks for sharing your birthday love! Looking forward to trying your winning recipe and also trying the blend in my coconut bites; coconut butter, macadamias, veggie blend and vanilla.

Oooh – your bites sound more-ish!

Good luck Nicole!

Firstly, I love the photos!! I would love to add this to my kid’s smoothies (they are 4, 3 and 1). I have transverse myelitis and walk with a walking stock which is why I am AIP, but it is tiring to try and make everything from scratch for my family (I feel I spend all day in the kitchen). This tub would allow me to make them a quick snack and know that they are getting so much nutrition even though it’s a short cut for me. Thanks for the opportunity.

Thank you, Sally! I felt a smidge ridiculous – but, a good cause!

Good luck!

PS – are you in AU or NZ?

Oh sorry, I’m in Australia.

I’ve been busting to try this. However my wish for winning this is less about me and more about others. I regularly care for a family of kids who have a multitude of emotional/physical issues. The family have not made the connection between their highly processed diet and the issues. I feel they will one day but are not there yet (it’s a journey for all of us, right?). Meanwhile I’d like to make every mouthful count when in my care and I think this is a perfect way to do this. (I’m in oz btw).

Renae – they are lucky to have you 🙂

Best of luck!

I think I would attempt to make a veggie mousse since it has a fruit included ! Thankyou so much for the opportunity to win a tub of Sarah’s Vital Proteins Collagen Veggie Blend – yes sounds rather expensive but wonderful at the same time !!!

Hello Susan

A veggie mousse sounds intriguing!

Good luck!

Omgosh…..wow! My budget has never been able to stretch as far as trying some collagen!
I’d love to give your caramel slice a whirl ?

Happy Birthday ?

Cheers, lovely Rinna.

And, good luck!

Thanks so much for your wonderful birthday offer !!! I’d love to make some fruit jellies for my grandchildren… and does it get rid of wrinkles!!!!?

Hi Catherine – just to be clear, this is collagen, not gelatin (so it doesn’t set like jelly) BUT – it’s GREAT for your skin!

Good luck!

Oh wow, i didn’t even know about this product. It sounds great. I would love to try it. I would make salmon vegie burgers. It would save me having to chop sooo many veges morning noon and night!

Hi Sandra – salmon veggie burgers sound delicious!

Best of luck!

PS – are you in AU or NZ?

Ahhh what an exciting giveaway. Paleo Mom is one of my go-to sources of information and I’ve been eyeballing this product since it was released. I think I’d probably pop it on my morning porridge concoction or maybe in a smoothie. (I’m in NZ.)

Hi Kiwi Ang!

Sarah is one of my go-to sources of information, too.

Best of luck!

Happy Birthday! I’m a South Aussie, been on AIP for nearly 5 months. Glad to come across your site as I’m always looking for recipes and support in this lifestyle. My new favourite recipe for collagen is a pumpkin spice protein ball using tigernut flour, pumpkin, dates, cinnamon, mace, ginger, and of course collagen. Would love to try it with the veggie blend. I’m also a BIG lover of caramel slice from way back, so definitely need to check out your recipe!

Your pumpkin spice protein ball sounds fab’, Nicole!

Best of luck in the giveaway.

Yay, just subscribed! I’m so looking forward to using the collagen in my after workout smoothies I make. I love adding frozen berries, collagen and coconut milk..whir it up and so easy to get extra gut healing protein in. It also keep me full while I make dinner so I am not dying of hunger LOL Thanks for doing this for us Aussie and Kiwi residents! Very generous of you XO

Hey Paula – this baby is just perfect as an extra boost of nutrient density into smoothies.

It’s nice to be able to share the love down-under (we so often miss out, don’t we?)

Good luck!

PS – are you in NZ or AU?

I’m in AU : )

Your caramel slice. I can do with something sweet. If I win, it’ll be sweet as, bro.

If it’s as ‘sweet as’, does that mean you’re a fellow Kiwi, Wendy?

Best of luck.

PS I live in Western Australia. But a kiwi.

Hi Joanna. Greetings from Canberra, Australia . I’ll be mixing the collagen vege blend into yoghurt, frittata, casseroles and baked goods, as I’m not a big smoothie fan. I love the VP plain collagen peptides, and would love to branch out!

Greetings Deborah-in-Canberra!

I LOVE the idea of sneaking this into a frittata – green eggs!

Good luck,

Jo-in-Sydney!

I’m here in Australia and I’ve been listening and following Sarah for years, love her work. I’m keen to get some of this goodness into my fussy kids- perhaps a smoothie, or sweet slice.

Hey Karen – I love Sarah’s work, too 🙂

Best of luck.

Many happies Joanna. A very excited KIWI here by your incredible generosity. I have just discovered (after umpteen years) I have histamine intolerance, (low or zero DAO enzyme) which I am now trying to manage/fix. Just bought my first tub of vital proteins beef liver…funnily enough produced from NZ beef!! Anyhow, I wondered about about the veggie blend, but couldn’t afford it.

What recipe will I use?…well with my very strict low histamine diet now, I will Give your matcha caramel slice a whirl…adapted without the dates (high histamine) plus add to my rather fabulous (even if I do say so myself!!) nutrient dense breakfast non cereal, cereal with lashings of coconut yoghurt!

Good luck everyone, by the looks, it’s going to be a hard decision ?

Hi Sharon – histamines can be tricky, can’t they?

LOVE the sound of your FABULOUS non-cereal!

Good luck!

They sure can Joanna, like a minefield sometimes but the upside to it is how creative I have become with meals/recipes! ?

I think adding this collagen to my mushroom recipes -soup, pate and sauces would be a nutritious advantage. I think my next batch of chicken liver mushroom pate might benefit too.

Oooh – That’s a great idea, Brenda. Adding it to pâté. Good thinking, Batman.

Best of luck.

Happy Birthday! Thanks for a giveaway to the land down under.

I’d add it to my breakfast smoothie. I stopped having it as I needed more protein for breakfast. I sure miss it.

Christine – nothing wrong with a green smoothie and a burger patty (especially with added liver!) for a nutrient dense brekkie on the run.

Good luck!

I would love to try the matcha caramel slice and also try it in a smoothie. What an awesome give away. Thank you!

Hi Jo (from another Jo!)

Pleasure, and good luck!

PS – are you in AU or NZ?

Thank you so much for this generous give away! I have been wanting to try this product for sooo long but the cost is prohibitive. There’s so much I’d love to try but as I’m a big caramel slice fan I definitely want to try your matcha caramel slice recipe. I live in Australia. Thanks Joanna ☺

Kaye van der Straten

Happy birthday Jo! How lucky are we all that you celebrate by sharing – thank you ❤❤❤

What to make…? A daily spesh for me and my family, be it a pannacotta, smoothie, sauce, slice or balls! Just something lovely and enriching every beautiful day xxx

How did I miss you, lovely Kaye?

Good luck up there in the North!

Thanks for sharing! I look forward to giving the matcha slice a go! Happy Birthday 🙂

Hi Shelley!

Hope you love it!

Best of luck.

What an awesome gift you are sharing! Boy I would have a field day if I got my hands on this. My daughter and I both have ceoliac disease and it’s so hard to keep kids happy with healthy food so I would try adding it to an avocado, banana and strawberry smoothie. Also I’d love to trying it in a date and coconut bliss ball.

Hi Reuel – Kids can be tricky, especially when they have further dietary challenges.

Good luck!

Oh oops, I’m in New Zealand? Thanks

I’d give your caramel slice a try! Hope your birthday is as fabulous as this giveaway ???

Hi Justine… I’m having extended birthday celebrations (thanks to this post!)

Best of luck.

PS – are you in Oz or NZ?

Thanks Joanna! I love a good birthday that extends over a month or more!!! Ooops, I’m in Australia 🙂

I used to start my day with a smoothie and a spoonful of vital greens, that is now gone because of the pea protein, so that would be my first stop. Whenever I cook, bake ir blend, I add gelatine, so I’d probably throw some collagen in instead to see where it tastes good. (I’m an aussie because my email address doesn’t give it away)

Hello Stephanie!

Good luck!

I listen to the paleo view and have wanted to try Sarah’s veggie blend collagen!! Your matcha caramel slice sounds amazing I’d be definitely making that! Thanks Joanna.

Whoops, I’m in Australia!

Hi Anthea – good luck to you!

Would love to try this! Can imagine it would work well in an AIP shepards pie. I have just gone AIP so trying to learn all of the products I can have 🙂

Hey Sjaan – I suspect it would make for a very green Shepherd’s Pie! This is MY favourite AIP-friendy version

Good luck!

Hi Joanna. I think the matcha caramel slice sounds amazing, so I’d probably try that first. NZ

Waaaaaaaaa this is the sweetest thing giving away your giveaway on your birthday! This might sound a bit gross but I mix coconut oil, carob (or cocoa which I can do a little of), honey, collagen, and barley greens together as a sweet pick me up, this would be perfect! I also have some matcha I do nothing with so your slice would be a definite go?happy birthday! Kahu (nz)

Hi Kahu

That doesn’t sound at all gross (to me, anyway!)

Good luck!

What an amazing product – this really makes no excuse for healthy eating. A much better solution to than adding nutrients to my diet than manufactured vitamin blends (which I spend far too much on).
I look forward to adding it into super smoothies. It’s the only way I seem to be able to incorporate breakfast into my busy day. I’m an Aussie girl.

Hi Aussie Amanda!

Here’s to some SUPER smoothies! …good luck.

I’m an Aussie and being 5 weeks in on my AIP journey, I’d love something I could add to my soups and casseroles.

Hi Tracey – congrats on hitting 5 weeks!

Best of luck

Wow, congrats on winning the comp and thank-you for sharing the love! I’d have to try your matcha slice -sounds yum, and then I’d throw it into my smoothies and I’d be keen to see how it would go in my salted caramel protein balls…. oh the fun I’d have trialling the tub of goodness. Enjoy NZ 🙂

Mmmm – salted caramel protein balls sound mighty fine, Maria!

Good luck!

I didn’t even know that AIP collagen existed. How excited am I. Thank you Joanna and Happy Birthday!
Being a newbie to AIP, I would try making a smoothie. I hope that response is not too boring This way the recipe won’t be overwhelming for me and my Hashimoto’s. I get loaded up with the good stuff and so does my family. They love smoothies but haven’t taken 100% to the whole diet thing. Maybe I could try your smoothie recipe – yummy.

Hello Ann (of NZ or Australia?)

Collagen from pasture raised cows (or piggies) is definitely a thing. And this baby has an extra boost of fruit and veggie goodness. GREAT for hiding in smoothies for little people!

Best of luck to you – in the draw and on your AIP adventure

Hi Joanna, it’s Ann from Australia.
Ooooh definitely want to make it my new thing! Sounds very nutritious and always nice to feel a little bit naughty when hiding good ingredients 🙂

Hi, Lisa from Australia.
Happy birthday month Joanna, finding your site has been a life saver for me as I have put my 15 year old son on the AIP and have loved using your recipes. So far we are a month in and going well but I am struggling to get his greens into him so the veggie blend would literally be a lifesaver. I know the caramel slice would go down a treat but would love to try the smoothie. It is wonderful to have an Australian resource!

Oooh, I’d love to include it in the smoothie I make from realfoodrebel.com. I am going down the parasite removal route at present and this smoothie with your collagen blend would be just the bees knees! Thanks from a fellow Aussie!
