Phoenix Helix Podcast: Autoimmune Skin Conditions

Do you follow Eileen from Phoenix Helix?

If you don’t, let me tell you – you should! Eileen’s Phoenix Helix site is one of the first I started turning to when I was looking for answers using diet and lifestyle factors to address my health issues. Not only is she both informed and knowledgable, but she has the most warm and compassionate style. Truly.

In 2012, Eileen started to develop rheumatoid arthritis. The conventional medical treatment frightened her just as much as the disease, so she sought another option. She read about the GAPS, Paleo & Wahls diets. They all taught her how to use food as medicine. Prior to this, Eileen had daily joint flares that were excruciating, disabling and frightening. After just one week on an anti-inflammatory diet, her flares began to lessen. A year later, they were gone.

Eileen started started her website to share all she had learned (and continues to learn) about nutritional healing. She is the Autoimmune Columnist for Paleo Magazine, host of the Phoenix Helix podcast and author of the e-books Reintroducing Foods on the Paleo AIP and 85 Amazing AIP Breakfasts. She’s also one of the most inclusive people that I’ve met in the autoimmune community.

The Phoenix Helix Podcast

Eileen initiated the Phoenix Helix podcast to expand the message of autoimmune healing to a wider audience. Every other week, she interviews experts in the field of health and nutrition, as well as individuals living with autoimmune disease.

This week, the Phoenix Helix Podcast is about autoimmune skin conditions…

Healing Your Body From The Inside Out

I’m very pleased to have joined Eileen and nutritional therapy practitioner, Mary Lapp of Simple and Merry fame, for the discussion on autoimmune skin conditions.

While all autoimmune diseases have common factors (molecular mimicry, an overactive immune system, leaky gut, food and stress triggers, etc.), autoimmune skin conditions sometimes have additional influences. So, that’s the focus of the latest Phoenix Helix podcast this week.

Whether you have psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus, hidradenitis suppurativa, rosacea, or another autoimmune or immune-stimulated condition, please listen in!

And even if you don’t have skin issues, but are looking for some troubleshooting ideas for symptoms that aren’t resolving quickly, this episode might just have the answers you seek.
