Sometimes, down here in the Antipodes, it takes us a little bit of time to catch on.  I know, I know – with the advent of the internet, we no longer have any excuse, but still…

Having only recently discovered The New English modern take on ceramics, I am loving their range of Tectonic Plates,  a selection of almost 300 quirky and collectable art plates. Hung on a wall or placed artfully on your table, these plates are produced by The New English in Stoke on Trent from the finest bone china.

The plates are designed to appeal to a contemporary audience and feature the work of artists, designers, and all round clever people from across the globe, some famous names, some up and coming. I’m starting my collection with Number 32, the ‘Full English’ (above).

There are loads to choose from, though.  One could say there’s almost something for everyone:

Now I just have to find an appropriate wall on which to display my (soon to be) growing collection…

How freaky would it be to find the cigarette butt under your toast and vegemite! :-0

Mmm – that would be BAD freaky!!! 🙂

These are super cool! I especially love the one with the roses, my fave are the designs with vintage cottage garden roses! These are too cool!

See – something for everyone. I think my next fave’ is #118. 🙂 (Very happy you like ’em, tho’!)

I adore the Roses plate also, how would we contact the artist to purchase?

Hi Carol – Happy you like it so much! You can purchase the plates direct from The New English. (Click here to access if it is easier for you). They have some really fabulous stuff. I purchased the Manko “Full English” plate and it arrived all beautifully and safely packaged by post to Australia.

If you have any further questions, feel free to flick me an e-mail. 🙂
